Bollywood Gossip : At the unveiling party of Ram Gopal Varma’s new film Sarkar Raj, the director showered his film’s leading lady Aishwarya Rai Bachchan ( who was in Miami with hubby Abhishek Bachchan celebrating their first wedding anniversary) with compliments galore.

He announced:”When we firs approached Aishwarya Rai, I wasn’t conscious of the fact that she is a good actor because her beauty overwhelms her brilliant performances. So I had a certain arrogance in me, I thought I would make her perform. But I was surprised.”

Ramu further recalled:”There is a particular shot in Sarkar Raj where Amitji is explaining something to her. Due to some complex camera movements, we had to shoot nine takes. What is amaising is that in all the nine takes, she looked as if she was listening to Amitabh for the first time. Only a director can recognise this as an amazing quality in an actor. I became a big fan of her acting after that.”
