Konkona and Ranbir…

It is being reported that Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma will star opposite each other in a new film for Karan Johar’s production company. The two fine actors will be directed by Kajol’s cousin Ayaan Mukherjee in a film titled Wake Up Sid.

A source said that Karan decided to do the film because of the Ayaan’s script, “The minute Karan read it he fell in love with it.”

Adding a bit about the story of the film, “In this Mumbai-based romance about urban relationships, the director needed a pair that seems incompatible. The film is about seeking a level of compatibility in a world gone distinctly out of control.”

That seemingly “incompatible” pair will be Konkona and Ranbir and according to another source, “Ranbir plays the yuppie who’s drawn to her, but she doesn’t understand why. The movie has a lot of comic situations and Ayaan has been working on this subject for a long time.”

Adding, “Ranbir has impressed Karan immensely and he wants to do a lot of films with the newcomer. When Ranbir was given the script for the film, he was very excited. The role suits his age and personality. Konkona too who’s been looking for diverse roles was more than willing to be a part of the film.”

Though still a rumored project, we are certainly excited about this new jodi and hope to see them together on the silver screen. We will be sure to report all the news about this intriguing film so watch this space for more!
