Urmila Matondkar is set to make a big comeback with two upcoming films: T-Series’ Karzzzz and Suneil Shetty’s E.M.I. Interestingly, the titles of both the films relate to indebtedness.

Ask her whom she is indebted to in life and Urmila laughs and says, “I am indebted to the industry for my career and to my parents in real life for making me what I am today. It is one debt I will never be able to repay in my entire life.”

Urmila, who essays the role of Kamini in the Karz (1980) remake, is excited about her comeback.

“I am excited that I am coming out with two films after a long gap. The teaser promos of Karzzzz have generated a lot of curiosity. It is rocking the market. I get so many messages everyday.”

The role of Kamini, played by Simi Garewal in the original film, has shades of grey, something that does not perturb Urmila.

“Nobody is grey even at 90 today,” she joked. “My Kamini is so rich that she can own a cosmetic company. My role is almost the same as Simi Garewal except for a few dramatic changes. I have tried to play the role in a different manner. She is rich, confident and very glamorous. She is always in control of herself.”

“I am ready to write a different language with this role. I am evil to the core and that has been very interesting.” she adds.

About E.M.I, the actress says “If Karzzzz is the height of glamour, in E.M.I there’s no glamour at all. I play a middle class girl who has taken many debts and has to settle in life. It is a very lighthearted comedy.”

This will be Urmila’s third film with Sanjay Dutt. “Sanjay is one actor who keeps getting better and better. He has mellowed down a lot now. He is a wonderful person and a fantastic actor. We have great vibes so it makes even easier.”
