Konkona Sen Sharma was born on December 3, 1979 in New Delhi, India.
She is a two-time National Award winning Indian actress.
Konkona’s father is Mukul Sharma, a science writer and journalist, and her mother is Aparna Sen, an actress, writer and film director.
She debuted in the film Indira in 1983.
Konkona is regareded as a very talented actress, winning a huge number of awards. Two National Film Awards, two Filmfare Awards, two Zee Cine Awards, one IIFA Awards, two AIFA Awards and two awards from the Bengal Film Journalists’ Association.
Konkona was ranked 11th on Rediff’s “Top Bollywood Female Stars” in 2005 and in 2006 she was ranked 9th.
She is also a very prolific actress, she has 10 movies coming out in 2008 and already two announced for 2009.
