You must be wondering what’s wrong with Bipasha Basu . But no, the same can be true for other actresses like Kareena Kapoor or Deepika Padukone . Wanna know how?

It started from the west (has to be) when Victoria Beckham slipped into hubby David Beckham’s jeans and Katie Holmes searched every nook and cranny of Tom Cruise ’s wardrobe for an apt attire.

This trend, termed as ‘Boyfriend jeans’, is catching up fast in India. And if things keep going the way they are, we might see Kareena trying Saif’s jeans or Deeepika flaunting Ranbir’s denims.
The brands and outlets like Mango are filling the stores with such jeans. In Delhi, the trend has already started, as some collegians are sporting this style of loose jeans.

Hair styles and dresses catch the fancy of youngsters very quickly and the best recent example is of Ghajini hair-do popularized by Aamir Khan Bollywood’s sexy sirens and fashionable ladies are generally the trendsetters for girls.

Bipasha Basu has credit for making street fashion a vogue. Anaita Shroff Adajania, fashion director of Vogue India and stylist who works regularly with Bollywood stars, says, “Probably next year in summer we may see many Bollywood stars sporting this new trend of ‘boyfriend jeans’”.

‘Boyfriend Jeans’ doesn’t means wearing the jeans of your boyfriend but a kind of fit where denims are not skin fit; in fact, it’s bit baggy, but fits well to the figure. This style will soon enter Indian markets with more types and cuts.

Wonder if the trend will work other way round too – ‘Girlfriend Jeans’. Imagine guys wearing figure hugging denims and high heels!
