India’s loss against England not only sent the Indian team packing, but it also brought the promotion of Love Aaj Kal to a premature halt
The producers of Love Aaj Kal had a promotional tie-up with the broadcasters of the T20 World Cup. Accordingly, lead actors Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone, co-producer Dinesh Vijan and director Imtiaz Ali left for London on Thursday.

They reached for the India vs England match, but when England sent India packing, the crew was disappointed and decided to return home. According to the plan, Saif and Deepika were supposed to appear in the commentary box for a few matches that India would play.

They had also planned to shoot a promotional video during their stay in London. A source said, “Saif and company decided there was no point in staying in London since India was out of the series.

They learnt that very few Indians would attend the matches of other countries.” While Dinesh Vijan refused to comment, Imtiaz Ali said, “We only went for the India vs England match. We were not supposed to promote the film
in the remaining matches.”
