Post the first look unveiling of the film Kites on May 15, 2009, at the Cannes Film Festival, BIG Pictures hosted a grand cocktail reception for the Kites cast, crew and international buyers and distributors. Thereafter Hrithik Roshan , Barbara Mori, Rakesh Roshan along with Prasoon Joshi walked the red carpet to attend a screening of the Hollywood film Bright Star directed by Jane Campion, who is Hrithik’s fan. For the evening, Barbara was dressed in a black Roberto Cavalli gown and Hrithik Roshan sported a tuxedo designed by Anaita Shroff Adajania.

Rakesh Roshan, Barbara and Hrithik unveiled the first look of their upcoming film Kites at the 62nd Cannes Film Festival.

Actually this was not the first time for Jr. Roshan’s on the red carpet but in fact his second time. The first time was actually 14 years ago. Hrithik says, “I was here 14 years ago as an assistant to the Film Federation of India – J Om Prakash, who was also my grandfather. I remember walking the red carpet and got a few glimpses of all the stars and felt pretty insignificant at that time”.

While Kites is scheduled for a October release, the Roshans said they would screen it for international buyers at Cannes.

Barbara adds, “This is my first time in Cannes. Kites is a beautiful love story and I am so happy to be here with this movie particularly because I feel very proud of it. I am really excited to be in Cannes”.

Kites also stars Kangana Ranaut , Nick Brown and Kabir Bedi in pivotal roles. It is being marketed and distributed worldwide by BIG Pictures. The film is being readied for release in the last quarter of 2009. Two versions of the film are being readied.

The official poster of Kites, unveiled at Cannes, explains why there is a buzz about Hrithik and Barbara and what it is that made Hrithik’s wife raise an eyebrow.

In The International markets, Kites will release in the English language version where as in India, the film will be released in the Hindi version, which has been shot simultaneously. BIG Pictures is marketing 18 news films at the Cannes Film Festival over and above its vast catalogue of films.

Bollywood’s beauty Bipasha Basu has of-late started snubbing the media with her ever so obvious royal ignores.

At a recent product promotion party, Bips played the perfect brand ambassador but at the same time refused to respond to any questions related to any of her upcoming films.

Bipasha, who’s riding high on the success of ‘Race’ has been observed turning down questions at a quite a few occasions, though at the time of promoting her flick ‘Race’ she was seen mingling with the media like never before.

Bipasha has always been known to be friendly with the media barring a few occasions where she was asked personal questions. At one such occasion where her beau John Abraham accompanied her, the media present there committed the gaffe of asking John about his wedding plans and pat came the reply of a furious Bips, “John is not the only actor around is he? Why don’t you people go and ask other actors the same?

Ok Bips, we get it. It’s her personal life and she has full right to her privacy. But in that case, why do we see her mingling amongst the shutterbugs all the time?

No issues with that, Bipasha has a long league of upcoming movies and she is smart enough to know what is the process of movie promotions, what say?
